(AsiaGameHub) –   A Powerball participant in Missouri has become the state’s newest millionaire by claiming a seven-figure prize from the lottery. Just one more matching number would have let them take home the game’s $87 million jackpot.

Missouri Player Takes Home Big Prize

The Monday Powerball drawing kicked off the new week with excitement, as another player managed to match five white numbers and claim a seven-figure prize. This time around, the lucky ticket holder was from Missouri, who won $1 million by matching all five white balls in the drawing.

To provide context, the winning numbers for the April 20 drawing were 9, 17, 36, 47, 64, along with the red Powerball number 26. Matching all these numbers would have resulted in an $87 million prize— or $39.7 million if a potential winner had chosen the one-time lump sum instead of the annuity payment.

Besides the fortunate Missouri resident, ten other players took home the game’s third-tier prize. Five of these players earned $50,000 each, while the other five won $150,000 each apiece, all due to the Power Play feature and its 3x multiplier.

Because no one claimed the jackpot, it kept growing and has now hit the $100 million milestone. A potential winner could choose either the annuity to receive the full amount or a one-time lump sum of $45.6 million.

Saturday Drawing Gives Out Two $1 Million Prizes

Meanwhile, the Saturday Powerball drawing gave Match 5 prizes to two different players. Since neither had the Power Play option active, both will take home $1 million.

Earlier this month, a player in Delaware won the most recent Powerball jackpot, taking home $231 million. That same drawing also gave a $2 million Power Play prize to a lucky Texan.

Elsewhere, Britain is gearing up to join in the action: Allwyn announced that the UK will launch its own Powerball game. This means Britons will have the opportunity to take part and compete with American players for the same jackpot.
